WISE Leader – Jim Mathenia – January 2018

JIM MATHENIA Director of Distribution – Service Cold Storage

Jim Mathenia has been with Service Cold Storage since the beginning. Jim’s background and experience helped in the evaluation of the currently available systems and eventual choice of the WISE WMS system for Service Cold Storage. Jim has also been instrumental in assisting the Royal 4 service team in the installation process, ensuring a smooth and seamless transition to go-live. For his outstanding achievement, Royal 4 Systems is pleased to induct Jim Mathenia as the newest member of the elite WISE leader’s program.

Quote from Jim Mathenia:

“Service Cold Storage selected Royal 4’s WMS solution because of some key and important reasons. First, we required a system that would be able to perform in both freezers and dry goods areas simultaneously. Royal 4 showed us how they could do this by allowing us to visit and talk to other customers that had the same requirements. Next, the Service Cold Storage doctrine is all about good customer service and this was critical. We were again convinced by talking to Royal 4 customers that they had this same commitment to excellence.

I’m a huge Royal 4 advocate given my experience and implementation of many WMS Systems. Not to mention a proven daily operator, best in class. Service Cold Storage (SCS) is here to support Royal 4 at any time. Because of our partnership, Service Cold Storage has become a leader in the cold storage industry.”

Service Cold Storage is a “First in Class” temperature-controlled facility with an unwavering commitment to customers, community, employees, and sustainable growth through technology and accuracy. The Service Cold Storage story begins in 2013 in Central Wisconsin. A formation of successful entrepreneurs that have significant histories in the food industry realized there was a regional need for a centrally located logistics facility. The combination of being customer-centric and regionally accessible has been a formula for growth. Today Service Cold is a formidable cold storage logistics facility in the region with aspirations to expose as many customers as possible to what Service is all about. Many customers are in the B2B setting and can struggle with offering state-of-the-art inventory reporting and recall systems. SCS fills that in\formation void as part of its standard service. They offer the production plant another “face” of the company when dealing with their customer in a seamless EDI environment. Whether SCS is the go-between for a producer and the receiver or offering DSD order fulfillment and load consolidation, they are going to do it with an enviable level of professionalism!
