Distribution Industry Challenges Smith Optics was moving into a larger facility to handle the increase in business and new product lines. Their unique mix of distribution models included large orders to big box retail, smaller orders to boutique stores and very small internet orders. The solution would require a flexible and configurable solution – WISE by R4. Royal 4 helped Smith Optics to identify process flow improvements and existing constraints.
Solution
With Royal 4’s configurable “Rules-Based” suite of supply chain software, they were able to configure the WISE WMS with integrations to 3rd party vendors to optimize the warehouse operations and picking environments. As a result, Smith Optics now manages its distribution operations with an optimal combination of automated processes to enable the highest level of productivity and customer service.
